Big Dutchman Southern Africa is currently busy with an ongoing broiler project in Zimbabwe, consisting of a 50,000-bird facility made up of two broiler houses. The project is a full turnkey solution, covering both building construction and equipment installation, delivering a complete, production-ready operation for the client.
Each house features a concrete bottom and curtain sidewall configuration with a steel ceiling structure, suited to the Zimbabwean climate and built for durability and ease of management.
House 1 has been successfully completed, with building construction and full equipment installation finalised and the facility ready for production. House 2 is currently in progress, with the Big Dutchman team actively on-site to ensure the same high standard is maintained throughout.
Each house is equipped with a comprehensive Big Dutchman broiler production system, including:
- Augermatic feeding system — a reliable pan feeding solution catering to day-old chicks through to fully grown birds
- Nipple drinker water supply — a hygienic and proven drinking system with pressure regulation and medicator connection
- PAD cooling with tunnel ventilation — wall fans combined with evaporative pad cooling benches to maintain optimal house temperatures
- FlexLED HO dimmable lighting — energy-efficient ceiling lighting designed to support bird welfare and production performance
- Outdoor feed silo — a galvanized steel feed storage silo ensuring hygienic, secure feed supply
- FlexVey feed conveying system — connecting the silo directly to the in-house feeding lines
- Coal-fired heating — providing reliable brooding heat suited to local conditions
- Climate and production computer — full ventilation control and environmental monitoring for each house
This project reflects Big Dutchman Southern Africa’s continued commitment to delivering world-class poultry infrastructure across the region, supporting the growth and modernisation of Zimbabwe’s broiler industry.
