Every year on 9 August, South Africa celebrates National Women’s Day – a day that honours the courage, resilience and determination of the more than 20,000 women who marched to the Union Buildings in 1956. In 2026, we commemorate the 70th anniversary of that historic march and the powerful legacy it continues to leave behind.

Celebrating Our Women
To celebrate Women’s Day, the ladies of Big Dutchman South Africa took some time away from the office to enjoy a creative experience together at Torok Clay Café.
With paintbrushes in hand, the team spent the afternoon painting their own clay pieces, sharing plenty of laughs and enjoying the opportunity to connect outside of the usual working environment.
It was a simple but meaningful way to celebrate the women who make such an important contribution to our business.
The afternoon was about more than just painting. It was about taking time to appreciate one another, strengthen relationships and celebrate the personalities and talents that make our team unique.
Women Making a Difference in Agriculture
Agriculture is an industry built on dedication, resilience and innovation – and women play an increasingly important role across every part of the sector.
From administration and marketing to sales, customer service, project support and technical operations, women bring valuable skills, perspectives and expertise to the agricultural industry.
