Big Dutchman South Africa recently welcomed a group of valued layer customers to its offices for an insightful and engaging Customer Day, held on 17–18 March 2026. The two-day event provided a platform for knowledge sharing, industry updates, and meaningful connection between customers and the Big Dutchman team.
The event kicked off with a warm welcome and opening remarks, followed by a series of informative presentations covering key aspects of modern egg production. Topics included genetic advancements, vaccination and biosecurity practices, and the future of farm management with BFN Fusion. Attendees also gained valuable insights into next-generation cage systems and wireless silo monitoring technologies, highlighting Big Dutchman’s commitment to innovation and efficiency in layer farming.
A key highlight of the first day was the opportunity for customers to network with industry experts and fellow producers, fostering collaboration and shared learning within the layer sector. The day concluded with a relaxed dinner, allowing guests to further strengthen relationships in an informal setting.
Day two continued with a strong focus on practical and strategic insights. Presentations included on-farm feed milling, an overview of the South African agricultural landscape, and future outlooks on aviary systems. The event wrapped up with closing remarks and an open discussion session, giving attendees the chance to reflect on key takeaways and ask questions.
